Vernon W. Jack passed away at the San Juan Hospital on April 17, 1983.
He was born on May 25, 1909, in Bountiful, Colorado, the oldest of nine children born to William and Clara Jack.
Vernon and Gladys Cardon were married on October 15, 1932, in Kirtland, New Mexico. The marriage was later sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Most of their married life was spent on the Indian reservation where they owned and operated several trading posts. In 1976, due to failing health, Vernon and Gladys moved to Blanding to be near family members.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys, daughters, Vernadeen Bates, Provo, and Nadeen Esman, Greely, Colorado; sons, Alvin Jack, Kayenta, Rayburn and Donald Jack, both of Blanding; brothers, Earl, Sylvan, Nelson, Clarence and Aldon; sisters Irene Black and Edna Gillorey; 24 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two sisters preceded him in death.
Services were held Tuesday, April 19, at the LDS Stake Center with Bishop Oliver Harris, Blanding Third Ward, officiating. Interment in the Blanding City Cemetery.
