Lynn B. Young, our loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024. He was born June 16, 1930, to John W and Minnie Irene Young in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School.

He was drafted in the Army after high school where he served as military police and military prison guard. After returning from the Army, he served a mission for the LDS church in Australia. After which he traveled before attending Brigham Young University where he met his wife, Ellen Cardon.

Lynn and Ellen were married on June 6, 1958, in the Salt Lake City temple. They were blessed with four wonderful children, nine grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Lynn served in the Air Force after which he worked for Boeing Aircraft in the state of Washington. The family moved back to Utah where they raised their children in Lehi, Utah. Lynn worked for the Utah State Prison. After retiring from the prison, him and his wife Ellen served several missions for the LDS church. After losing his wife in 2004, he settled down in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Lynn’s passions were gardening, nature and photography, but his greatest passion was supporting his children and grandchildren in their activities. Lynn was very active in the LDS church, holding many callings. He is survived by his children: Denise (Brian) Vandevanter, and Suzette (Lynn) Reimschussel. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph Lynn Young Jr., Crystal Kelly, Stephen Matthew Hall, Zachary James Hall, Tyler Coy, Benjamin Charles Wood, Laine Marion Hansen, Barry Curtis Hansen Jr., and Timothy Bud Hansen.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Ellen C. Young, his parents, his brothers and sisters, his son, Joseph Lynn Young, and his daughter Lucinda Young.

Lynn’s funeral will take place Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at the Timpanogos Fourth Ward Chapel at 425 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove, Utah at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may attend the viewing one hour prior to the services at the church. He will be laid to rest in the Hurricane City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Timpanogos Fourth Ward, Thorneberry Branch, and Olpin Mortuary for all their help and kindness.
