Lucinda Young passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2023, surrounded by her family after a valiant battle with heart disease. Lucinda was born to Lynn and Ellen Young in Renton, Washington on December 25, 1962, the second of four children. She married Mark Hall and together they had two boys. They were later divorced. She married Jim Coy and together had one son. They were later divorced.
Lucinda was artistically talented in many areas. She enjoyed playing the flute and piano. She painted art and made jewelry. She was also a wonderful poet and writer. She loved to write letters to send to her loved ones. She was full of inspiring words for others.
Lucinda loved her family. She was a good caring mother, sister and daughter. She nursed her mother back to health during her battle with heart disease. She was a CNA and enjoyed caring for her patients. She completed schooling in bookkeeping and enjoyed her career in it as well being an administrative assistant.
She is survived by her sons Tyler Coy, Utah, Zachary Hall and Stephen Hall, Virginia. Father Lynn B. Young: sisters Denise Vandevanter and Suzette Reimschussel, and several nieces and nephews who loved her. Lucinda was preceded in death by her mother, Ellen C Young and her brother, Joseph Lynn Young.
Lucinda’s fighting spirit was evident in every step of her battle with healing from a very horrific car accident and several serious illnesses.
Lucinda had a constant ability to love all, and her beautiful glow shone for everyone to see. She will not be forgotten.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 11:00 am in the North Park 3rd Ward chapel, 1066 West 200 North in Provo, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:00 – 10:45 am prior to the services. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com
