Sunland, Calif. – William Daniel Clegg, 81, formerly of Ogden and Salt Lake City, died Sunday at his home in Sunland of a heart attack.
Mr. Clegg was born June 30, 1879, in Downey, Idaho, a son of William and Mary Van Noy Clegg. He graduated from Weber Stake Academy.
On June 28, 1906, he married Edna May Cardon in the Salt Lake Temple.
He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad Co., and was deputy county clerk of Weber County. He moved to Southern California in 1936.
Surviving are his widow, the following sons and daughters: Capt. Glenn W. Clegg, stationed with the Navy at Wanshington, D.C.; David C. Clegg, Venezuela; Wayne D. Clegg, Tujunga, Calif.; Mrs. D. C. (Junita) Oviatt, Clearfield; Mrs. S. O. (Lillian) Rush Jr., Hollywood, Calif.; 12 grandchildren, two brothers, Henry K. Clegg, Salt Lake City; Earl Clegg, Los Angeles; one sister, Lorraine Detree, Salt Lake City.
Services and burial were held today in North Hollywood.
