WILLIAM A. SHAW
William Alben Shaw, 62, of 2406 Jackson, died Wednesday at eleven p. m. in a local hospital, following a short illness of heart trouble.
He was born Feb. 23, 1880, in Ogden, a son of William Dudley and Anna Cardon Shaw. With the exception of two years spent in England, 1899 to 1901, as an L. D. S. missionary, he had spent his entire life in Ogden. He married Constance Minns August 25, 1894, at the Salt Lake L. D. S. temple. For many years he was active in Sunday school and M. I. A. organizations of the Fifteenth ward. In 1931, he moved into the Twelfth ward. He was a member of the seventies quorum at the time of his death.
Mr. Shaw was a member of the Utah Retail Grocers association, having retired from the grocery business in 1934. He operated a store at Five Points for many years.
Surviving are his widow of Ogden; his mother of Logan; one son, William Rulon Shaw, Ogden; two daughters, Mrs. Connie Underwood, Ogden, and Mrs. Maurine West, Paso Robles, Calif.; one brother David J. Shaw, Washington, D. C.; four sisters, Mrs. Rosina Sherner, Ogden; Mrs. Mary Bjorkman, Logan; Mrs. Lilly Taylor, Park City, and Mrs Lucy Clark, Tooele; and six grandchildren.
Another son, Morris Shaw, was killed in action Aug. 26, 1942, while he was serving with the Canadian air force in England.
Services will be conducted Saturday at one p. m. in the Twelfth ward chapel by Bishop Bradley H. Paul. Friends may call at Larkin & Sons’ mortuary drawing room Friday afternoon and evening and Saturday until twelve-thirty. B?urial will be in Ogden city cemetery.

Services for William Alben Shaw, 62, retired grocer, who died at eleven p. m. Wednesday in an Ogden hospital of a heart ailment, will be conducted Saturday at one p. m. in L. D. S. Twelfth ward chapel by Bradley H. Paul, ward bishop. Burial will be in Ogden city cemetery under direction of Larken & Sons’ mortuary.
Friends may call at the mortuary this evening and Saturday until time of services.

Funeral services for William Alben Shaw, 62, retired Ogden grocer, were held Saturday at three p. m. in the L. D. S. Twelfth ward chapel. Counselor A. L. Bott conducted the services. Prayer at the mortuary was offered by Stake President Samuel G. Dye.
Invocation was offered by William J. Brian. The benediction was given by Alonzo Whipple.
The speakers were David J. Wilson, Lawrence Malan, Weber county clerk, and Counselor Bott.
Music was furnished by the singing mothers chorus, soloist, Mabel Ridges, accompanied by Mrs. Fern Clark.
The Twelfth ward Relief society had charge of the floral display. The pallbearers were close friends of the deceased.
The burial took place at the Ogden city cemetery. The grave was dedicated by Austin H. Shaw.
