Wayne Stanley Farnsworth, 59, passed away, in Mesa, on Sept. 24, 2004. Born October 12, 1944. 

Visitation 6-8 pm Wed. Sept. 29 at Bunker’s Mortuary 33 N. Centennial Way in Mesa. Funeral Services 10:00 am Thurs. Sept. 30 at Mesa East Stake Center 2228 E. Brown Rd. 

  • When he was four years old he saved a toddler cousin from drowning. 
  • As a teenager, he drove his hand built dune buggy all over desert that is now filled with houses. 
  • He served as Relief Society President while on a mission for the LDS Church in a tiny branch in Chile. 
  • He married his sweetheart in the Salt Lake Temple.
  • He coached little boys in baseball.
  • He marched in the Doo Dah Festival Parade with good friends.
  • He rode dirt bikes with his sons.
  • He hiked in the Superstitions with his daughter. 
  • He camped in sun, rain and snow with his Boy Scouts. 
  • For 14 years he supported his children from the 50 yard line.
  • He sang in the ward choir over 25 years.
  • He loved the people he worked with at Arizona Public Service. 
  • He loved the people he interacted with in the communities of Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Carefree, El Mirage & Surprise.
  • He graduated from Mesa High, earned a BS from ASU, an MBA from BYU, and the Silver Beaver Award. 
  • He solved any problem he ever encountered. 

He will be deeply missed! 

He is survived by his wife Kathryn and sons William (Nanci) Farnsworth, David (Stephanie) Farnsworth, Jeffrey (Ashleigh) Farnsworth, Richard (Christine) Farnsworth, Steven Farnsworth, daughter Emily Farnsworth, grandchildren Austin, Chase and Sarah Farnsworth and his father Archie V. Farnsworth.
