Walter A. Cardon, 82, of 3561 Van Buren, died Sunday at his home of natural causes.

Mr. Cardon was born Feb. 3, 1890, in Ogden, a son of David and Elizabeth Nesser Cardon.

He was married to Mabel Moore on Feb. 21, 1911 in Morgan. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

He graduated from Weber Academy in 1908 and attended the University of Utah.

He was former owner-manager of the Cardon Market. After selling his market in 1938 he became manager for the American Food Store and later was named supervisor of the meat department for American Food Stores in the Ogden District. He retired in 1961.

He was a member of the Meat Cutters Union.

He was a member of the Weber Heights Stake LDS High Priests Quorum and the 34th Ward. He was former superintendent of the 8th Ward Sunday School, and had also been a home teacher.

Surviving are his widow of Ogden; three daughters, Mrs. Lee R. (Fay) Richards, Santa Fe, N.M.; Mrs Warren H. (Jean) Stewart, Ogden; Mrs. William (Phyllis) Thomas, Palos Verdes Estates Calif.; 11 grandchildren and seve great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers and one sister, Lawrence Cardon, Declo, Idaho; Ernest Cardon, St. George; Herman H. Cardon. Mrs. Clarence (Hazel) Coray, both of Ogden.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Larkin Cahpel of the Dawn with Bishop William L. Collins of the 34th Ward officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. and Thursday until services. Burial will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
