Elwood— Virginia Lee Petersen died Sunday, February 13, 2000, at her home in Elwood.
She was born September 19, 1927, in Ogden, Utah, to Earl E. and Bertha Mary Shaw Lee. She attended Ogden City Schools and Weber College. On September 18, 1953, she married Willis C. Petersen in the Logan LDS Temple and moved to Elwood, Utah, where she resided until her death. Surviving are her husband, of Elwood; three sons and one daughter, Larry (Becky) Petersen of Pocatello, Idaho; Kendall of Salt Lake City; Lisa Shinney of Ogden; Steven of Logan; and seven grandsons. One daughter, Christine, preceded her in death. She is also survived by her sister, Vera Caldwell, Pocatello, Idaho; her brother and sister-in-law, Earl S. and Carolyn Lee of Ogden; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 17, 2000, at 11:02 a.m. at the Tremonton LDS South Stake Center, 1150 So. Tremont St. under the direction of Bishop Henry Z. Thompson. A viewing will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16th from 6-8 p.m. at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Thurs. Feb.17th from 9:15-10:40 at the Church.
The family suggests that donations may be made to the Elwood Ward Missionary fund or to the Rocky Mountain Hospice of Utah, 315 East 400 South, Bountiful, UT 84010. Burial in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
