ST. GEORGE – Vilda Cardon Brenay, 75, died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at her home in St. George. She was born May 6, 1923, in Colonia Dublan, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Jesse L. and Frances Farnsworth Cardon. She married Arnold A. Brenay July 5, 1941, in Las Cruces, N>M>

Mrs. Brenay lived in Mexico in her early years, where she graduated from high school and was fluent in both English and Spanish. She has lived in Las Vegas and in the St. George area at different times throughout her life. She was an active member of the LDS Church, where she served as a teacher in the Sunday School and Primary programs. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She loved her family.

Surviving family include her husband Arnold of St. George; seven children; Arnold A. (Patricia) Brenay, Jr. of Reno, Nev., Donna L. Brenay, Cheryl M. (George) Abel, Jesse R. (Shelley) Brenay, Michael J. (LaKaye) Brenay, and Candice J (Ryon) Bowler, all of St. George, and Donald W. (Gloria) Brenay of Mesa, Ariz.; 27 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother and four sisters: Bob Cardon of American Fork, Wanda Morrill of Pleasant Grove, Nellie Foote of Litchfield, Ariz., Mary Nailor of Mesa, Ariz., and Verla Yeagar of St. George, Utah.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 24, 1999, at 11 a.m. at the St. George City Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, April 23 from 7-8 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 300 W. St. George Blvd., and Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, prior to services.
