Pocatello- Vera Lee Caldwell, 82, passed away Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at a local care center.
She was born March 6, 1921, in Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Earl Edward and Bertha Mary Shaw Lee. She attended schools in Ogden, Utah and graduated from Ogden High School. She attended Weber College.
She married Callis Archibald Caldwell on August 20, 1942 in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Callis passed away January 9, 1997. She lived in Soda Springs, Idaho, then moved to Pocatello, Idaho in 1953.
She was president of the, Lawyers Wives Auxiliary. She was an elementary school aid. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She held numerous church callings. Vera and Callis served two full time missions to New York City and Frankfurt , Germany and also were workers in the Idaho Falls Temple.
She is survived by her two sons, C. Lee (LaWan) Caldwell, Pocatello, Idaho; Bruce Dean (Kathy) Caldwell, Payson, Utah; two daughters, Calene (David) Caldwell Peck; Cheryl Lynne (James P.) Caldwell Price, all of Pocatello, Idaho; one brother, Earl (Carolyn) Shaw Lee, North Ogden, Utah; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband, Callis A. Caldwell; sister, Virginia Lee Petersen; grandchildren (twins) Paulette and Cynthia Caldwell.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 9, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Highland Stake Center, 2140 Satterfield Drive, with Bishop Boyd D. Roberts of the Highland 4th Ward officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening February 8, 2004 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave. and on Monday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel.
