A homemaker who enjoyed bowling, clam digging and traveling in her recreational vehicle, Thelma Cardon, 86, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2001, in a Vancouver care center.

Mrs. Cardon, whose maiden name was Warren, was born Nov. 21, 1914, in Malad City, Idaho, and had lived in Clark County for 70 years. She was a member of the Lacamas Creek Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and regularly attended services in the Portland Temple.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel “Lon,” in 1987, and a daughter Betty Jean Bridger, in 1995.

Survivors include three sons, Bob of Hermiston, Ore., Don of Mesa, Ariz, and Ken of Camas; two sisters, Artis “Mickey” Malcom of Richland, Wash., and Georgia Scott of Goldendale, Wash.; one brother, Keith Warren of Washougal; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Vancouver East Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The casket will be open for viewing from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Vancouver Funeral Chapel. Vancouver Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
