Susette T. Crockett Dies in Nevada; Rites Set in Logan
Susette Turner Crockett, 65, widow of Hyrum E. Crockett, one time Utah secretary of state, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. LaRae C. Earl in Las Vegas Sunday.
Funeral services will be conducted in Logan Wednesday, 1 p.m., with definite details to be announced Tuesday.
She was born March 11, 1888, in Logan, a daughter of Frederick and Sarah A. Turner. She was married to Mr. Crockett Sept. 6, 1911. He died Dec. 23, 1935.
Mrs. Crockett is survived by the following children: Cardon T. Crockett, Mrs. Susan Atwood and Dr. H. C. Crockett, all of Hayward, Calif.; Dr. Joseph T. Crockett, Los Angeles; Mrs. Earl of Las Vegas, Mrs. Verva T. Hurler, Mrs. Arveda T. Watkins, Salt Lake City; her mother of Salt Lake City; a sister, LaPriel Picot, Washington, D. C.; brothers, Marriner C. Turner, Salt Lake City; Lee W. Turner, Los Angeles; 14 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Kenneth Lindquist mortuary in Logan, Wednesday, from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Logan City cemetery.

Illness Claims Widow of Utah Official
Susette Turner Crockett, 65, widow of the late Hyrum E. Crockett, former Utah secretary of state, died Sunday at 11 a.m. of a heart ailment at the home of a daughter, Mrs. M. C. Earl, Las Vegas, Nev.
She was born in Logan, March 11, 1888, a daughter of Fred and Sarah Cardon Turner.
She was married to Mr. Crockett, Sept. 6, 1911, in the Logan Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Secretary of state for eight years during the 1920s, Mr. Crockett died Dec. 23, 1934.
Surviving are four sons and daughters, Cardon T. Crockett and Susie C. Atwood, both of Haywood, Cal.; Dr. Joseph T. Crockett, Los Angeles, and LaRae C. Earl, Las Vegas; three stepchildren, Dr. H. Cleff Crockett, Haywood; ‘Verba H. Hurler and Areba C. Watkins, both of Salt Lake City; her mother, Sarah A. Turner, and a sister, LaPreal Picot, both of Washington, D. C.; two brothers, Marriner C. Turner, Salt Lake City, and Lee C. Turner, Los Angeles; and 14 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist Mortuary, Logan. Burial will be in Logan Cemetery.
