Rowland B. Cardon, 78 SUMMERFIELD FLORIDA- Rowland “Chips” B. Cardon, 78, a retired first class petty officer for the U.S. Navy, died Saturday, May 10, 2003. 

A native of Salt Lake City, he moved here from St. George, Utah, in 1995. Mr. Cardon was a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, American Legion and Spruce Creek Military Club. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Eve-Anne “Annie” L. Cardon, Summerfield; son, Bruce Cardon, Visalia, Calif.; daughters, Rita Vasquez, Clermont, Calif., Ruth A. Henderson, Anaheim, Calif., Gayle Cardon, Signal Hill, Calif.; sisters, Audrey Miller, Denver, and Joice Ludwig, St. George; stepson, Henry Hoffman Jr., Gretna, La.; stepdaughter, Nancy Quinn, Temple, Texas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
