Ronald Lane Bronkhorst, 48, of Castle Rock, died June 25, 1998, at St. John Medical Center in Longview.

He was born May 28, 1950, in Sunnyside, Wash., to Wallace and Tessie (Platt) Bronkhorst and moved to Castle Rock from Vancouver in 1992.
He graduated from Evergreen High School in Vancouver in 1968. He worked as a truck driver and a musician.
He was a longtime member of the Columbia River Old Time Strings in Vancouver and the Cowlitz Valley Old Time Music Association in Kelso. He was a bass and guitar player, and vocalist. He was an avid hunter and gardener.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wally Bronkhorst, in 1980.
Survivors include his fiancée, Cynthia Montoy of Castle Rock; a son, Anthony W. Bronkhorst of Vancouver, two daughters Angela Bronkhorst and Amanda Bronkhorst, both of Vancouver, his mother Tessie Wright of Klickitat, Wash.; a sister, Sandy Grahnert of Vancouver; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Christian Center in Kelso. A graveside service will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Pioneer Cemetery in Sunnyside.

Friends may pay their respects from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at 8 a.m. until noon Tuesday at Columbia Funeral Service, 1105 Maple St., Longview.
