EVANSTON, Wyo. – Robert Evan Guild, 77, former postmaster of Evanston, died Friday morning in an Evanston hospital of a lingering illness.
Mr. Guild was born Oct.12, 1887, in Piedmont, Wyo., a son of Joseph P. and Lucy Eiden Guild. He was married to Isabelle Sneddon Aug. 21, 1913, in Diamondville, Wyo. She died in 1958.
He had been a rancher at Piedmont until 1920 when he moved to Evanston and began operating a store. He served as postmaster from 1948 to 1956. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F.A.M. No. 4, and the Woodman of the World.
Surviving are one son, two daughters; Joseph P. Guild, Brown Valley, Calif.; Mrs. Henry (Jessie) Van Sweden, Tremonton; Miss Dorthea Guild, Evanston; seven grandchildren; one sister; Mrs. Nora Watson, Riverton.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Gilbert Bills Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday and Monday prior to services. Burial in the Evanston Masonic Cemetery.
