Robert Cardon Ricks, Sr., 85, passed away on Tuesday, June 25, 2013. He was born on November 29, 1926 in Logan, Utah. He grew up in Benson Ward outside of Logan.
 After serving for two years in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Bob moved to California where he worked at a print shop. He then returned to Utah and settled in Ogden, where he resided for the last 60 years.
 He married the love of his life, Ilean Hutchins in 1964, and they renewed their vows in Reno, Nevada on April 15, 1976. She passed away on January 27, 1983.
 Robert worked for many years in construction, retiring from Gibbons and Reed, but then continued on a part-time basis for many more years.
 Bob also managed the Roosevelt Hotel for the past 40 years. He was a member of the Utah Labor Union.
 He loved to golf, fish especially with his son, and play poker at the Peppermill Casino. More than anything, Bob enjoyed traveling with his family and having barbecues together.
 Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor, his generosity, and his showing of unconditional support.
 Robert is survived by his children, SueAnn Candelaria, Henderson, NV; Robert Ricks, Jr., Ogden, UT; and Karen Ricks, Ogden, UT; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and by his brother, Floyd Ricks, Long Beach, CA.
 He was preceded in death by his wife, Ilean Ricks, parents, and 11 brothers and sisters.
 Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit with family on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
