ROBERT ZIRKER

REXBURG, Nov. 12. – Funeral services for Robert Zirker were held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Rexburg LDS Fourth Ward church under the direction of Bishop Delbert G. Taylor.

Invocation was by William Hansen; benediction, D. M. Davis; mixed double quartet, Mrs. John L. Clarke, Mrs. Roland Weiser, Mrs. Floyd Keith, Mrs. Wells Grover, J. R. Clark, D. M. Manwaring, Gilbert McKinley, Alton Anderson, accompanied by Helen Moss, sang “Sometime We’ll Understand,” “Jesus Lover of My Soul;” vocal solo, “Face to Face,” Carlyle Eyre; organ solo, “Sweetly and Tenderly,” Helen Moss.

Speakers were Lawrence Zirker and Cardon Klingler, E. S. Stucki and Delbert G. Taylor. V. F. W. conducted military honors.

Pallbearers were Julius Zirker, John Zirker, Willis Zirker, Lawrence Zirker, Kenneth Zirker, Cardon Klingler.

Flowers were under the direction of Rexburg Fourth ward Relief society.

The grave was dedicated by Karl C. Klingler.

Burial was in the Rexburg cemetery under the direction of Hansen Funeral Home.

Robert A. Zirker

Robert A. Zirker, 29, former resident of Utah, died Thursday in a Los Angeles Army hospital after a brief illness, Salt Lake relatives were informed Friday.

Born in Myton, Duchesne County, April 21, 1918, a son of John and Helen Viertil Zirker, he was educated in Myton public schools and was graduated from Roosevelt High School.

He married Cara Klinger in Rexburg, Ida., in 1942 and was graduated at the Utah State Agricultural College the same year.

Mr. Zirker was a lieutenant in the Army Medical Corps for three and one-half years during World War II and served for a year in France.

Survivors besides his widow and mother includes two sons: John Robert, 3, and Douglas Carl Zirker, 1, Rexburg; five brothers and one sister, John, Julius and Edward Zirker, Arcada, Duchesne County; Willa Zirker, San Diego; Lawrence Zirker and Mrs. Elsa Odekirk, Salt Lake.

Burial will take place in Rexburg Sunday.
