Reynold D Bluemel, 70, passed away Sunday December 1, 2013 surrounded by his family. 

He was born June 9, 1943 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Lelan David Bluemel and Thora Rebecca Walker. 

Reynold spent his early years in Lyman, Wyoming working on the family ranch. He graduated from Lyman High. He married Eden Byrne; they had 4 children and later divorced. He worked in the oil field and construction industry. After a serious injury, he drove over the road as well as locally. 

He married Shauna Lou Lloyd in 1985 and adopted her 5 children. They lived in Sandy until 1998 when they moved to Santa Clara.

He reinstated the Dixie Company of the Mormon Battalion and served as Captain for 4 years. He was a great sportsman, taking pride in his ability in tracking and hunting. His last wish was one more fishing trip.

He is survived by his wife Shauna Lou Bluemel; his children Mariette (Tyler) Boyles, Jack (Marianne) Bluemel, Natalie Bluemel, Ren (Sherry) Bluemel, Chuck (Melissa) Bluemel, Cameron (Samantha) Bluemel, Corey (Cindy) Bluemel, Chris (Katie) Bluemel, Heather (Jason) Christ; 29 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; his sisters Marjorie Maxfield and Ethel Coates; his brother Rodney Bluemel; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Maryette, and his brother Robert.

Funeral services were Thursday, December 5, 2013 11:00 am at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah with viewings held at the same location, Wednesday December 4, 2013 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and prior to services on Thursday 9:00 am – 10:30 am. A graveside service and interment took place Friday, December 6, 2013 1:00 pm at Crescent Cemetery, 11105 South State Street, Sandy, Utah.
