FORT BRIDGER – Rex Henry Ballard Jr., 55, will be interred in Fort Bridger Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
He died on July 23, 2008, at his home of heart complications.
He was born Jan. 25, 1953, in Salt Lake City, a son to Rex Henry and Marilyn (Cross) Ballard Sr.
Among his hobbies and interests were fishing, music, playing the guitar and singing.
He also enjoyed the outdoors, horseback riding and loved his dogs.
He is survived by a son, Andy Ballard and his wife; a daughter, Amy Ballard; former wife, Susan Ballard, all of Salt Lake City; two stepsons, Chase Petersen of Salt Lake City and Adam Tippetts of Tohapah, Nev.; companion, Heidi Hamilton-Powers of Fort Bridger and her children, Harleigh Powers of Rock Springs and Jhett Powers of Fort Bridger; three brothers Russell Ballard and his wife, Richard Ballard and Rede Ballard and his wife, all of Cody; sisters and their spouses, Ginger Hazelbaker of Shawnee, Kan., and Tami Watson of Bakersfield, Calif. and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
