ST. GEORGE – Reed O. Tueller, 81, died Sunday July 25, 1993, at his home in St. George. He was born May 7, 1912, in Paris, Idaho, the 12th child and 10th son of Christian and Elizabeth VonAlmen Tueller. He married Eleanor Irene (Peggy) Biles, Sept. 11, 1933, in Logan. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 10, 1946. Peggy died in the 55th year of their marriage on Feb. 17, 1988.

Reed is survived by the five children of their marriage: Mrs. Earl (Elizabeth Ann) Hanger of Salt Lake City, Alden B. Tueller of Provo, Arlin Reed Tueller of San Diego, Mrs. Cory (Pegy Sue) Marcus of San Francisco, James Rand Tueller of Denver, their spouses and 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

On Oct. 7, 1989, Reed married LaVerne Cardon Johnson and acquired additional family to cherish: Mrs. John (Suzanne) Huffman of Long Beach, Mrs. LaMar (Paulette) Day of Modesto, Mrs. Steve (Bonnie) Alger and Glen Bott, both of Las Vegas, their spouses and 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He leaves one brother, Dallas A. Tueller, also of St. George.

Reed graduated from the College of Pharmacy, University of Idaho Southern Branch, June 1935. He practiced briefly in St. George and Provo before joining Eli Lilly and Co. as a pharmaceutical representative. From April 1, 1938 to June 1, 1977, he represented this company of which he was very proud. During those 40 years he served in the Bishopric of Stratford Ward, was head of the stake and ward Aaronic priesthood committees, served a stake mission, and was on the Seventies Council. He supported two sons on missions.

Reed was an officer and longtime member of the Utah Pharmaceutical Association. He also belonged to the Salt Lake City Kiwanis Club and served as a director. After his retirement he and Peggy moved to St. George. They built two beautiful homes and he earned a real estate license and participated in the growth and promotion of the community. He worked on his golf game and was active in his ward and temple work. With LaVerne he built a third lovely home where he resided at his death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 29, 1993, at 10 a.m. in the St. George 14th Ward Chapel, 750 N. 1000 West. Friends may call Wednesday, 7-8 p.m., at Metcalf Mortuary, 300 W. St. George Blvd. and Thursday, 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., in the chapel prior to services.

Friends may also call at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Drive in Salt Lake City on Thursday, 7-8 p.m. Graveside services are noon Friday, July 30, in the Paris Cemetery under the direction of the Metcalf Mortuary.

Contributions in lieu of flowers preferred to the Adeline Tueller Kloepfer Fund of Ricks College Nursing School, or the Grandparents Club at Dixie College.
