Raymond W Lamoreaux, 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, October 1, 2006, at his home in American Fork, Utah. He was born September 15, 1914 to Ray Deloss and Mabel Asay Lamoreaux. He married Lucy Cardon August 9, 1935 and together they had 9 children. Lucy died August 15, 1981. He married Carol Hales May 28, 1982 and helped raise her 8 children. Between them they have 53 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Ray was a hard worker and at 92 was still working. His motto was “Do it now.” During his life he managed several service stations, owned a lumberyard, apartments, a real estate company and a construction company. During the past few years , he was busy developing subdivisions.

Ray was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a counselor in 3 bishoprics and was a great youth leader, believing that through sports many people could learn about the Church.

He is survived by his wife Carol of American Fork and 13 children: Carolyn (Drake) Markle, Tom (Paula) Lamoreaux, Beverly (Bennie) Hall, Pamela (Rick) Thompson, Jim (Margo) Lamoreaux, Allyson (Neil) Hargrave, Tamara (Shawn) Warenski, Michelle (Mike) Hall, Troy (Shauna) Hales, Tracy Hales, Wendy (Clint) Bean, Shannon Hales, and Clint (Jeanna) Hales. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lucy, sons William Lamoreaux, and Jack Lamoreaux, and daughters Suzanne Lamoreaux and Corinne Hales Hardy.

Funeral services for Ray will be held Friday, October 6, 2006, 11:00 a.m. in the American Fork East LDS Stake Center Chapel, 825 East 500 North, American Fork, Utah. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Warenski Funeral Home, 1776 North 900 East, American Fork, Utah and at an additional viewing at the church Friday morning from 10:00-11:00 a.m.prior to services. Interment will take place in the American Fork City Cemetery, 600 North Center Street, American Fork, Utah.
