Porter Earl Heaton, 16, died July 23, 2007, in Standrod, Utah, of injuries from a ranch accident (his favorite place). He was born Oct. 27, 1990, in Provo, Utah, to E. Jex and Lanise Porter Heaton.

Porter was a member of the LDS Church. He was a priest in the North Ogden 13th Ward and was active in scouts and ward activities. He was a student at Weber High School where he was involved in FFA and served as an officer. He played the saxophone and guitar. Porter was his own person; he walked to the beat of his own drum. His cousins were his lifeline.

He is survived by his parents, grandparents Larry C. and LaDawn Porter, Earl Burke and Carolyn Heaton, siblings Mykah, Kimball, Samantha, Derek, Joel and Magdalen, numerous aunts and uncles, and more than 100 cousins.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 27, 2007, at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden 13th Ward, 950 E. 2850 N; North Ogden, Utah.

Friends and family called Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Myers Mortuary, Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. and Friday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the services

The graveside service was held at the Standrod Cemetery at 4 pm.
