Phyllis graduated from Weber High School and from Weber State College. She married Christian E. Dolin in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on April 26, 1951 and was later divorced in 1962.
As a young adult, Phyllis learned to arrange flowers in a Hollywood Florist shop. When her brother Wendell got polio she came home to Uintah. She then served an LDS mission in Southern California. After serving her mission, she met her husband while working in the Genealogical Society in Salt Lake City. He was an immigrant from Paris, France. When he joined the US Army, they lived near Monterey, California before he was stationed in Germany. She traveled across the USA and boarded the Queen Elizabeth. Her in-laws picked her up in France and put her on a train to Germany.
Phyllis and Christian later had three children. The rest of her life she talked of her love for Northern California and Germany.
After her divorce, she got a degree in Elementary Education from Weber State College and taught at Club Heights Elementary until she retired. She loved gardening, arranging flowers, and art. She loved being a grandmother, teaching art to her grandchildren and doing things with them.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Patrice (Steve) Moore, Leslie Padgett; son, Paul Dolin; grandchildren, Laurie (Ben) Elmore, Jason (Shannon) Christian, Robert (Amanda) Moore, Stacey (Nicholas) Bluth, Braden (Cheri) Moore, Kell (Nadia), Alec, Tessa (Devin), and Ryker Padgett; and 24 great-grandchildren.
