Pearl Drumiler Tate, 82, passed away on June 8, 2001, at Infinia Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

She was born Feb. 25, 1919 in Ogden, UT, to Elbert P. and Nettie Shaw Drumiler.

She was raised and educated in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School and Weber College. Following graduation she was employed by the Ogden City Board of Education, working as a school secretary at Ogden High School until 1942.

She married Francis G. Tate on April 14, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were later divorced.

She was employed at the Salt Lake Veterans Hospital as a medical secretary, retiring in 1983 after 30 years. Later she held part-time jobs in the Salt Lake School District, and helped care for her great-niece and nephew, Brittany and A.J. Mullins.

Pearl was a member of the LDS Church and attended the Ogden 15th Ward, and the Imperial 1st ward in Salt Lake City, serving in the Sunday School, young Women’s Organization and the Relief Society. She enjoyed working on family genealogy. She was a member of the Salt Lake City Symphony Guild and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

Pearl is survived by her son, Richard E. Tate, his wife Kim and a grandson Nicholas, Wanaque, NJ. She is also survived by a brother, Daniel W. Drumiler (Jean) Bountiful, a sister, Cleo Drumiler Murray (William), Salt Lake City, and many nieces and nephews. Special love and care was given to her by nieces Carol Spackman Moss, Colleen Mullins and Barbara Jean Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Elbert Drumiler, sister, Mary Wood, nephew Ken Murray, and niece Becky Drumiler Morris.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at 12 noon at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 So. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, where friends called from 10:45 am to 11:45 am. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
