When Patricia Ann Sullivan was born on 21 July 1940, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, her father, Eugene Gilbert Sullivan Jr., was 27 and her mother, Zella Genevieve Cardon, was 22.

Her parents separated and divorced. In the 1950 US Federal Census she was living with her mother, age 32, her brother Daniel Gilbert Sullivan, age 4 and Cardon Eugene age 3. She was missed on the page 27 and added on page 29. She was listed as Sullivan, Pat Ann age 9. The census location was Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. When her grandmother, Annie M. Cardon passed away 27 January 1956, her mother is mentioned in the obituary as Mrs. Vito (Zella) Catanzarite

Her father passed away when she was 16 years old on the 6th of May 1957.

She married James Ted Whitehead on 23 June 1959. They were the parents of five sons. Donald Lynn was born 24 March 1961. He died on the 23rd of December 2018. Other sons are Todd Wayne (1962), James Patrick (1964), Stephen Eugene (1968) and Edward Alan (1972).

Her mother passed away February 9, 1987, in Martinez, Contra Costa County, California. That same year a grandson, James Vito Whitehead was born April 27, 1987. to James Patrick and Tami Nielsen. He died of cancer September 3, 2005. Her spouse, whom she had divorced in 1971, passed away on the 17th of October when she was 67 years old. Her son, Donald Lynn Whitehead, died on the 23rd of December 2018 in Arizona.

She died on 3 January 2021, in her hometown, Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 80.
