Dr. Cardon Dies in N.Y.; Born Here

Dr. Orson P. Cardon, Tucson-born chest surgeon, died yesterday morning at Huntington, Long Island, N. Y., after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage Saturday.

The funeral will be tomorrow morning in Huntington.

Cardon was born in Tucson June 21, 1923. He graduated from Tucson High School, the University of Arizona and Columbia University medical school in 1947.

He served two years in the Air Force as a captain in the medical corps. His internships were at Long Island College and Cleveland General Hospital.

He entered private practice at Huntington in 1953 as a chest surgeon. He became a member of the American Board of Surgeons two years ago.

Dr. Cardon leaves his wife Betty, and five children; three sisters, Mrs. Roscoe Hamblin of Montgomery Creek, Calif.; Mrs. Ralph Trejo of Casa Grande; and Mrs. Roland Funk of Salt Lake City, Utah; and four brothers, Wilford P. Cardon of Mesa; Stanley Cardon of Phoenix; H. P. Cardon, of Detroit Mich.; and Dr. Bartley P. Cardon of Tucson.

The family suggests contributions to local charities.

Dr. Orson Cardon, Native Tucsonan, Dies In The East

Word has been received of the death of Dr. Orson P. Cardon, 37, who died yesterday in Huntington, Long Island, N.Y., after a brief illness.

A native Tucsonan, Dr. Cardon was born June 21, 1923, and was graduated from Tucson High School and the University of Arizona before going on to graduate from Columbia Medical School in 1947.

During World War II he served two years in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Air Force.

Dr. Cardon interned at Long Island College and Cleveland General Hospital.

In 1953 he entered private practice as a chest surgeon in Huntington. He was a member of the American Board of Surgeons.

Survivors are his wife, Betty; and five children; three sisters, Mrs. Roland Funk, of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Roscoe Hamblin, of Montgomery Creek, Calif.; Mrs. Ralph Trejo, of Casa Grande, and four brothers, Wilford P. Cardon, of Mesa; Stanley P. Cardon, of Phoenix; H. P. Cardon of Detroit, Mich.; and Dr. Bartley P. Cardon, of Tucson.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow in Huntington, and the family has requested that any remembrances be made as contributions to a charity organization.
