Norma Cardon, 82, of Salem, Oregon died Tuesday.

She was born in Ogden, Utah, and lived in Albany from 1949 to 1956, and Alsea from 1956 to 1959 when she moved to Salem. She was a nurse’s aide at Salem Hospital, retiring in 1984. She enjoyed golf, traveling, fishing and crabbing.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth, whom she married in 1941; daughters, LesLee Ositis and Whitney Thorp, both of Salem; brother, George Thorstensen of Ogden; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at 4th Ward Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she was a member. Interment will be at Belcrest Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Chapel. Contributions: Marion Polk Food Share, 2305 Front St. NE, Salem, Oregon, 97303.
