Missing Over Germany
Sgt. Newell McCarroll Snarr, 20, husband of Mrs. Cleo D. Snarr, 535 Washington, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Newell Snar, 305 Fourteenth, is reported missing in action over Germany since April 7. He is a bombardier and gunner on a B-17 Flying Fortress.
Sgt. Snarr enlisted in the army air corps in October, 1943, training at Buckley field, Denber; Las Vegas, Nev., and Tampa, Fla. He arrived in England on Feb. 25, 1945. He is a graduate of Ogden high school.
Awaiting further word are his wife, baby, parents and the following sisters: Evelyn, Maurine, LaVon and Geneil Snarr, Ogden.

OGDEN, Feb. 5 – Short prayer services for Sgt. Newell McCarroll Snarr, who lost his life April 7, 1945, while serving with the U. S. army air force, will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at the mortuary, 24th and Adams, by Bishop Fred M. Carroll of the Tenth ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Sgt. Snarr was born in Ogden, June 14, 1925, a son of Newell and Jessie Johnson Snarr. He graduated from Ogden high school and for a time was employed by the American Packing and Provision Co. On. Oct. 25, 1943, he entered the army air forces and trained at Buckley field, Denver; Las Vegas, Nev., and Tampa, Fla. He left for overseas duty on Feb. 13, 1945, and arrived in England Feb. 25.
He was a bombardier on a B-17 and was on his 15th mission over Germany when he lost his life. He was buried in the Margarten cemetery, Holland.
A member of the L D S Tenth ward, he was active in the elders quorum, and had served as assistant ward clerk and was a ward teacher.
He was married to Cleo Drumiler on Aug. 13, 1943, in Ogden.
Surviving are his widow, now Mrs. William Murray, Ogden; a daughter, Carol Anne, Ogden; his parents of 305-14th st., Ogden, and four sisters: Mrs. Evelyn Campbell, Mauurine, La Von and Geniel Snarr, Ogden, and a grandmother, Mrs. Phoebus Snarr, Salt Lake City.
Friends may call at the family residence, 305-14th st., Wednesday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Thursday until 11 a.m. and at Larkin and Sons mortuary Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A short prayer service will be held at the funeral chapel just prior to going to Ogden cemetery at 1 p.m. where full military honors will be given by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Capt. Glen Eldridge in Charge.
