Arco man dies in rollover of pickup

IDAHO FALLS (AP) – An Arco man is dead after a one-vehicle rollover on a country road about three miles south of Arco. Neil Ralph Parkinson, 21, died from head injuries sustained in the crash of his pickup truck. Butte County Sheriff Darrell Richards said Parkinson was pronounced dead at the scene Friday morning.

ARCO – The funeral for Neil R. Parkinson, 21 of Moore, who died Friday, will be at 11 a.m. today at the Arco LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop David Caldwell officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Arco. Arrangements are under the direction of the Marvel Memorial Chapel in Arco.

On Saturday, an Arco man was killed when the pickup truck he was in rolled. The Butte County Sheriff’s deparment said Neil Ralph Parkinson, 21, was in the southbound truck when it went out of control and rolled sideways 1 1/2 times on a rural road three miles south of Arco.

Services held Monday
for Neil Parkinson

Neil Ralph Parkinson, 21, a lifelong resident of Arco, died August 18, 1989, in an auto accident on a country road south of Arco.

He was born November 11, 1967, to Ralph Parkinson and Theda Kowallis Parkinson in Arco.

He attended school in Arco, where he was a member of the high school wrestling team.

On March 12, 1988, he married Tisha Lilley at Arco. He attended refrigeration and air conditioning school at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, returning to Arco in June of this year.

He was a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed bow hunting.

He is survived by his wife of Moore; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Parkinson of Arco; three sisters, Anita Parkinson of Arco, Eileen Parkinson, serving an LDS mission in Arizona, and Debbie Hansen of Loveland, Colorado; two brothers, Scott Parkinson of Arco, and Craig Parkinson of Jerome; and his grandmother, Carrie Merrill of Bountiful, Utah.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at 11 a.m. at the Arco LDS Ward with Bishop David Caldwell officiating. Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Arco under direction of Marvel Memorial Chapel.
