ELSINORE — Mavis Smith, 91, passed away March 24, 2020, in the Monroe Canyon Assisted Living facility where she received outstanding loving care. She was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Kanab, to Lloyd and Irene Christensen. She married Wayne Brinkerhoff Nov. 27, 1946, in Tooele. The marriage was later solemnized for time and all eternity. He preceded her in death July 20, 1984. She later married Euhlan Smith April 26, 1985, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death June 1, 2017.
Mavis was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various positions, including seminary teacher, Relief Society president and spent many hours researching family history. She served two separate missions, one to the Philippines Baguio Mission and one to the Russia Novosibirsk Mission. She was a big fan of the Utah Jazz and seldom missed a game and a strawberry shake from McDonald’s. She enjoyed quilting and over the years has made hundreds of beautiful quilts. She loved to travel and the outdoors especially fishing. She was able to enjoy many fun trips with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Kathy (Cordell) Pearson, Circleville; Terry (Susan) Brinkerhoff; and Paul (Cindy) Brinkerhoff, all Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and sisters, Loretta Corpe and Sharon St. Clair.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Irene Christensen; siblings, Edna Sampson, Betty Gutierrez, Freya Johnson, Janice Knab and Kay Christensen; and great-grandson, Harmon Atkin.

Private graveside services were held Saturday, in the Memory Gardens Memorial Park, in Las Vegas.
