Mary Cardon Clouse, 97 of Mesa, AZ, passed away February 19, 2003. Visitation is Mon., Feb. 24, 6-8pm, Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ. Also one hour prior to service at the church. Services are Tuesday., Feb. 25, 1pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Centerview Ward, 15 E 1st Ave., Mesa, AZ.

Mary Cardon Clouse, 97, of Mesa, AZ, passed away Febrary 19, 2003. She was born to Louis Paul and Edith Done Cardon on the 20th of October, 1905, in Colonia Dublán, Mexico. Forced out of Mexico during the Poncho Villa rebellion at the age of 7, she eventually made it to Virden, New Mexico with her family.

In 1926 on the 22nd of September, she was married to Charles Ira Clouse in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Following the return of Charles from his LDS mission, they lived in Safford, Globe, and finally settled in Mesa, Arizona where they built their home in 1934. Five children were born to this union.

Mary was well read. She was a talented pianist and was playing into her nineties.

She was a person without guile. She always thought the best of others and always had the kindest of intentions.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Paul Cardon and Edith Jemima Done Cardon and her daughter-in-law Sharon Clouse (Charles). 

She is survived by her children Sharlimae Todd, Robert Elwood Clouse (Colene), Dale Cardon Clouse (Dorothy), Charles Larry Clouse (Joyce), and Mary Laraine Sutton (Thomas Lee), 32 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 25th at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 15 E 1st Ave., Mesa, Arizona. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service and Monday night, February 24th from 6 p.m to 8 p.m at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, AZ.
