When Marvin Cardon was born on 13 March 1912, in Mexico, his father, Leroy Phillip Cardon, was 30 and his mother, Adelaide Margaretta Call, was 25. He had an older brother, Mancel Elwood who died in Mexico on the 5th of October 1911 before Marvin was born. By 1920, when he was seven, he was residing in Ophir, Tooele County, Utah. He married Esther Barlow on 8 June 1933 in Davis County, Utah. Esther was from Bountiful. They were the parents of at 4 sons and 1 daughter.
In 1934, his oldest son, Marvin Barlow was born. Phillip Edmund was born in 1937.

He died on 17 January 1984, in Long Beach, Los Angeles, California, United States, at the age of 71, and was buried in Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles, California, United States. He was survived by his five children and 21 grandchildren.
His brother Woodrow Wilson died the day after Christmas in 1986 in American Fork, UT. His sister Belva passed away 6 Jun 1993 in San Diego, California. His sister Lorita died in 1995 on the 10th of March. His sister Addie Fae passed away 26 Jul 1998 in Napa California. Junius Lee Wilburn, his youngest brother died 1 Apr 2001 in Clearfield, UT.
