Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother passed to her heavenly home, after complications from surgery, May 22, 2007 in Spokane, WA.

LouJean was born February 2, 1923 in Logan, Utah to Bartlie Temple Cardon and Jennie Murdock Cardon. During her high school years in Logan she met and married her sweetheart John Gomer Evans. They would have celebrated their 67th weeding anniversary July 13th.

During their early married years in Logan she raised her little family while dad served in WWII and started his career with Continental Baking Co.

She was a devoted wife and mother and loved her calling as a homemaker. She loved waking up each morning with a song and serenading her family. In 1952 they suffered a great loss with the death of their 12 year old son Jackie. Following this, in 1955 dad was transferred to Twin Falls, ID. After two more transfers they put their roots down in Spokane in 1964.

After dad retired in 1973 they decided to work together and purchased a 7-11 store on 5th and Thor St. This was quite an experience for mom but she was a skilled bookkeeper from all her experiences as the finance director at home and together they built a successful store. Retiring again in 1986 they spent many years traveling together and with family.

This last year has been spent at Cooper George Assisted Living.

LouJean is preceded in death by her two sons John Jr. “Jackie”, and Brian Phillip; her parents; her sisters; Joan, Gayle, Annette; and brothers Tom and Phillip.

She is survived by her children; Kenneth Cardon Evans, Dianne Evans Iliff (Dan), Steven Kent Evans (Sue), Nancy Sue Evans, all of Spokane; and Jennifer Evans Gregory (Leroy) of Everson, WA. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 2 pm, May 26 at Cooper George, 707 W. 5th, Spokane, WA

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe, Spokane WA.
