Louis Cardon
Louis S. Cardon, 86, died Tuesday, May 10, 1988 at his home in Orem.
He was born Aug. 10, 1901 in the Mormon Colonies in Mexico to Louis Paul and Ellen Sanders Cardon. He married Winnafred Bellamy July 1, 1925. She died in January of 1986. He married Myrtle T. Cook, Sept. 8, 1986.
In his boyhood his family moved to Arizona where he received his education in the public schools and at the University of Arizona.
He was a lifelong member of the LDS Church, in which he held various offices including bishop and patriarch.
His work included store management and accountancy in the state of Colorado.
He was well versed in the scriptures and had memorized a great many passages.
His interests included science and flower gardening.
Survivors include four sons and one daughter: Mrs. Burke (Brookie) Peterson, Bountiful; Louis B. Cardon, Orem; Marriner P. Cardon, Phoenix, Ariz.; Philip W. Cardon, Moraga, Calif.; Grover L. Cardon, Orem; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; eight sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Marion (Edith) Thatcher, Mrs. Charles (Mary) Clouse, Mrs. H. P. (Florence) Jones, all Mesa, Ariz.; Mrs. Rosco (Dora) Hamblin, Eureka, Calif.; Mrs. C. S. (Ellen) Carr, Covina, Calif.; Mrs. A. J. (Ethel) Heldt, Sun City, Ariz.; Mrs. Ralph (Edna) Trejo, Casa Grande, Ariz.; Mrs. Wesley (Amy) Odell, Walnut Creek, Calif.; Stanley P. Cardon, Phoenix, Ariz.; Bartley P. Cardon, Tucson, Ariz.; Helaman P. Cardon, Birmingham, Mich.
Funeral was held Saturday in Orem. Burial was in the Orem City Cemetery.
