WEST HAVEN (KANESVILLE) – Louis Rulon Cardon, 88, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 1996 of causes incident to age.

He was born August 31, 1907 in Logan, Utah, the son of John Paul and Mary Sorenson Cardon.

When he was a young man he moved to Hansel Valley, Utah to dry farm. It was in this area that he met his eternal companion Harriet Rebecca Wadman, who survives him. They were married September 30, 1931 in Brigham City, with their marriage being solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple June 24, 1957.

Mr. Cardon was a loving and devoted father to Louie, who preceded him in death; Reatha Anderson, Sunset; LaRae (William) Parker, Ogden; Paul (Darlene), Ogden; Steven (Tammy) Victorville, CA; and Janis (Max) Butler, Kanesville. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

He had worked for the UIC Railroad, Pillsbury Mills, retiring in 1972, and then began a ‘new career’ at National Distribution in the Freeport Center retiring in about 1988. He was presently a Water Master for Schribner Ditch Company.

He was an active member of the LDS Church, serving for many years as a Sunday School Superintendent; as a ward clerk and counselor in the bishopric. He was a faithful home teacher – always visiting, contacting and supporting his families until he could no longer leave his home.

He had farmed most of his life and was always so proud of his beautiful flowers and particularly his roses, a healthy tomato patch, beautiful peppers and a gorgeous raspberry patch. Grandpa was tired–he wasn’t able to pick up the hoe any longer, so went where he could work in God’s Garden.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Moratory, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop James Hodgson, officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park
