CHALK – In Woodland, June 13th, Lois Chalk, dearly beloved wife of James N. Chalk of Modesto; mother of Evelyn Nitz of Carmichael, Marilyn Hinkle, Barbara K. Chalk and Bruche Chalk all of Modesto, and Church Missionary Lawrence J. Chalk of New Zealand; daughter of Mrs. Lucinda Cardon of Arizona; sister of Joseph Cardon and Udell Cardon both of Colorado, Ella Goodman, Mildred Kleinworth, Gladys Jack and Lloyd Cardon all of Arizona, Ernest Cardon of Turlock and Eugene Cardon of New Mexico; grandmother of Paul Nitz of Carmichael. A native of New Mexico, aged 46 years. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, 3:30 p.m., in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1105 W. Orangburg Ave., Modesto. Friends may call at FRANKLIN & DOWNS FUNERAL HOME, 12th and G Streets, (parking lot adjoining), until noon Friday, Committal, Lakewood Memorial Park.

Lois Chalk

Services for Lois Chalk, 46, a resident of Modesto 12 years, will be held at 3:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), 1105 W. Orangeburg Ave., Modesto, with the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home in charge. Burial will be in the Lakewood Memorial Park.

A native of New Mexico, she died Tuesday in a Woodland hospital following a long illness. She had been a telephone operator and was a member of the 2nd Ward of the Mormon Church.

She was the wife of James N. Chalk of Modesto. Other survivors are daughters Evelyn Nitz of Carmichael, Marilyn Hinkle and Barbara K. Chalk, both of Modesto; sons Bruch Chalk of Modesto and Lawrence J. Chalk, a church missionary to New Zealand; her mother, Mrs. Lucinda Cardon of Arizona; sisters Ella Goodman, Mildred Kleinworth and Gladys Jack, all of Arizona; brothers Joseph Cardon and Udell Cardon, both of Colorado, Lloyd Cardon of Arizona, Ernest Cardon of Turlock and Eugene Cardon of New Mexico, and one grandson.

Friends may call at the Franklin & Downs Funeral Home until noon tomorrow.
