In Loving Memory
Lisa Wallace-Wolcott, 49, passed away in San Diego, CA on March 10, 2016, after a courageous battle with colon cancer which she fought side by side with her loving husband Frank, as she would say, her love, her partner, her Marine. Although she was born in Anaheim and loved being in California close to the ocean, her heart was never far from Utah. Lisa grew up in the Willow Creek area of Salt Lake City and attended Brighton High School. Lisa was a vibrant, loving and fiercely loyal person. The greatest love in her life was her daughter Lauren, whom she adored and cherished.
Lisa loved all things food and wine and loved taking care of other people, so it was only fitting that she flourished in her career as an event planner. She was a key member of the food services team for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. She loved being active and was always dressed and accessorized perfectly. Lisa was a deeply caring person and was always interested in others, no matter what was going on in her own life. In the last years of her life, she was an example to all who knew and loved her of how to live with strength, grace and beauty.
Lisa was preceded in death by her brother Lee Mortensen. She is survived by her beloved daughter Lauren Wallace, her husband, Frank Wolcott, her sister, who was her rock, Leslie Lund, her brother Lyn Mortensen, her parents Lyle Mortensen (and his wife Jeanne), Linda Moore (and her husband Art) and her nieces and nephew Demi Brog Rainaldi, Taylor Brog, Dylan Brog, Brenna Mortensen and Gwenyth Mortensen.
A private celebration of her life will be held this month, if you would like more information you can email: LesLeo22@outlook.com. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Lisa Wolcott Memorial Fund, gofund.me/u3uuycqs
