Leslie Walter Alexander Beloved Husband and Father

MAGNA- Leslie “Les” Alexander, passed away Tuesday morning, January 4, 2005, as a result of a massive heart attack while surrounded by his loving family. Les was born August 10, 1930, in Buhl, Idaho to James Jackson and Mabel Byrne Alexander. Les married Lessene “Senie” Calhoun, August 20, 1950, in Buhl, Idaho and later their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. He attended school in Idaho and in 1948 enlisted in the Army. Les was discharged February 1950 and then was recalled later that year to serve in the Korean conflict. After being discharged in 1953 he moved his family to Utah and built his home in Magna, Utah. He worked for Kennecott Copper Refinery where he retired in 1985 after 32 years of service. Les was a member of the LDS church and served in several different callings within the church. He is survived by his wife, Senie, children, Sandy (Kevin) Sheppick, Shauna (Steve) Johnson, Jan (Larry) Harward, Jay (Ami) Alexander, Rick Alexander, 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, two on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the fantastic V.A. nursing staff and doctors for their loving care. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2005, at the Magna Stake Center, 3084 S. 8400 W., Magna. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thurs., January 6, 2005, at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., Magna and 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment: Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
