LEWISTON – Leah Merrill Bright, 81, died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 1988, in the Logan Regional Hospital.

She was born April 16, 1907, in Richmond, daughter of William and Lucy Cardon Merrill. She married Hazen Wesley Bright Sept. 28, 1927, in the Logan LDS Temple. They made their home in Lewiston. He died April 1978.

She graduated with the first class from North Cache High School and attended Utah State Agricultural College. She worked in the Lewiston school lunch program for 22 years as cook and supervisor.

She was active in the LDS Church and auxiliary and was a teacher. She was a Beehive teacher for 30 years and was an active temple worker.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Camille and Jed W. Hart, West Valley City; and Louise and Lewis F. Wiser, Lewiston; three sons and daughters-in-law, Hazen Stephen and Carol Bright, Payson; John W. and Kathryn Bright, Lewiston; W. Mark and Clides Bright, Dugway; 31 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ariel C. Merrill, Bountiful; one sister, Clarinda Green, Burley, Idaho.,

Funeral services will be Saturday at noon in the Lewiston 1st Ward Chapel with Bishop Dennis Jackson conducting. Friends may call at the Webb Funeral Home in Preston, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the ward chapel Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in Lewiston Cemetery
