Layne J. Capozza, 45, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. He was a life long resident of Rock Springs, Wyoming.
He was born on June 25, 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Sergio “George” Capozza and Mona Bradshaw Capozza.
Mr. Capozza attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming and was a 1986 graduate of the Rock Springs High School.
He married Elizabeth Abels in Rock Springs, Wyoming on September 19, 2009.
Mr. Capozza was employed at TaTa Soda Ash Partners for the past fifteen years and was a Surface Mechanic. He also owned and operated Capozza’s Custom Rods.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and was the current Vice President of Trout Unlimited.
His interests included fly fishing, hunting, camping, riding dirt bikes and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Capozza of Rock Springs, Wyoming; his mother Mona Capozza of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sons Dalton Layne Capozza and Bodie J. Capozza both of Vernal, Utah; two daughters Ashley Maria Kelly Capozza of Vernal, Utah and Haley Anne Powell of Rock Springs, Wyoming; one sister Sonya Maes and husband Kevin of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two nieces Shenyce Plemel and Bryanna Plemel; mother-in-law Annette Abels of Provo, Utah; maternal grandmother Llewjuana Bradshaw of Lyman, Wyomng; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Sergio “George” Capozza; paternal grandparents Sabino and Angela Capozza and maternal grandfather Darius Bradshaw.
Following cremation, memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Avenue, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, one hour prior to services.
