Obituary of Kenneth Green Hunter

17 Sep 1928 – 15 Feb 2011

Husband of Dorthy Virginia Ricks

Kenneth Green Hunter, 82, passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 15, 2011 due to natural causes.
Ken was born Sept. 17, 1928, in Lehi, UT to George Stanley and Jane Fern Green Hunter. He grew up and lived on the family farm his entire life, save the last 6. He graduated from Am. Fork High School and earned an Associated degree from Utah Technical College in Electrical Technician. He married Gloria Brooks in 1947 and had 6 kids, they were later divorced. He married Dorothy Virginia Ricks, “Ginger,” and her 5 kids on March 22, 1968. They were later solemnized in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. Together they had 1 child.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His greatest joy was serving a mission at the Dan Peterson School for 6 wonderful years.
Ken worked at Geneva Steel for 38 years where he met many friends and would retire. He was an electrician by trade, but we know him as the best fix-it, build-it and repair man on earth. He had an amazing talent for building things out of wood. His generosity was endless, and never spoke an unkind word of anyone, ever.
He enjoyed spending time in Cedar Fort, in his shop, at his cabin, reading, and his favorite, the old “Lehi Cafe.” He adored his family, and loved his friends. He was always happy and welcomed anyone who wanted to visit. Ken’s family would like to thank Hearts for Hospice.
Ken is survived by his loving wife Ginger; children, Linda (Larry) Lloyd, Kerry (Carolyn) Hunter, Kathy (Phil) Hall, Ronald (Becky) Hunter, Jeff (Nancy) Hunter, Mike (Karen) McCoy, Kim (Peter) Eastwood, Steven (Carie) McCoy, Terry McCoy, Lisa (Dan) Tanner, 50 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Karen Hunter Turner, Kathy McCoy Langevin, and a granddaughter Jodi Framptom.
