Mrs. Katie Byrne Fife, 78, wife of Sanford Fife, 2727 Gramercy, died last night at the family residence after an extended illness.

Mrs. Fife had been an active member of the L. D. S. church, had worked in the Relief society, Primary and did genealogical work. She was a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, camp Q.

On Dec 17, 1895, she was married to Mr. Fife in the L. D. S. Salt Lake temple. The couple had resided in Ogden since that time.

She was born Sept. 19, 1873, in Piedmont, Wyo., a daughter of Moses and Catherine Cardon Byrne.

Surviving are her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Orielle (Bertha) Blackburn, Ogden; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, one brother, Michael Byrne, Teton, Ida., and two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Kendall, Uintah, and Mrs. Annie Corey, Ogden.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at one p. m. at the Larkin mortuary chapel. Twenty-fourth and Adams, Bishop J. Delmont McDonald of the L. D. S. Seventeenth ward officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from six to nine p. m., and Saturday until time of services. Interment will be in Ogden city cemetery.

Ogden – Mrs. Katie Byrne Fife, 78, 2727 Gramercy Ave., died Tuesday, at 7 p. m. in the family home following an extended illness.

Mrs. Fife was born Sept. 19, 1873, in Piedmont, Wyo., a daughter of Moses and Catherine Cardon Byrne.

On Dec. 17, 1895, she was married to Sanford Fife in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Ogden, where they had since resided.

She was a member of the Ogden Seventeenth L D S Ward and had been active in the Relief Society, Primary and Genealogical Society, Primary and of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Camp Q.

Surviving are her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Orielle (Bertha) Blackburn, Ogden; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Michael Byrne, Teton, Wyo.; Mrs Minnie Kendall, Uintah, Weber County; Mrs. Annie Corey,Ogden.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Larkin and Sons’ Motuary Cahpel by J. Delmont McDonald, bishop of the Ogden Seventeenth Ward.

Friends may call at the Mortuary Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday until time of service. Burial will be in Ogden City Cemetery.
