SUNSET – Junius (Lee) Wilburn Cardon, age 78, passed away April 1, 2001, at his home due to complications from diabetes.
He was born June 22, 1922, in Salt Lake City, the son of LeRoy P. and Retta Call Cardon.
He married June L. Cruser on July 19, 1945, in Salt Lake City.
He was reared in Salt Lake City graduating from West High School in 1940. He has resided in Sunset for 49 years.
Lee served in the Navy during World War II in North Africa and Southeast Asia for six years.
Lee was a member of the LDS Church. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge 3355 in Roy, and the VFW in Layton.
He retired from Hill Air Force Base in 1979 after 38 years.
Lee was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed playing pool and working in his garden.
Surviving are his loving wife of 55 years, June, three daughters, Tina Smith, Roy, Karen (Gary) Johnsen, Chandler AZ, Joy (Frank) Hohlios, Clinton, Utah, six grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters, one grandson, Jeremy Johnsen, and two great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
Friends and family may call Wednesday only from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 South State Street.
Military honors will be observed by Combined Veterans Honor Guard.
