SAFFORD – Grant Allred, 70, the former owner of the Safford Body and Paint Shop, died Jan. 1, 1986, at Mountain View Nursing Center. Mr. Allred was a lifelong resident of Safford. He had served in the Arizona National Guard and was a former member of the Elks, the Gila Mineral and Rock Club and the Square Dance Club. He had coached Little League and had been active in the Boy Scouts of America. He belonged to the Safford Country Club Golf Club and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen; daughter, Ora; sons, Gary, Richard, Robert, Chris and Max; three sisters, four brothers and 28 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today or from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Mullenaux Funeral Home, 1491 Thatcher Blvd. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Safford Sixth Ward Chapel of his church, on 20th Street.
