Cardon, John Roy, Bishop of the Inkom Ward, Pocatello Stake, Idaho, from 1923 to 1930+, was born Oct. 1, 1886, in Ogden, Utah, the son of John David Cardon and Elizabeth Neeser. He was baptized Aug. 1, 1895 , and ordained a High Priest and Bishop Nov. 25, 1923, by Hyrum G. Smith.

INKOM – John Royal Cardon, 85, died Sunday in the Bannock Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born Oct. 1, 1886, at Ogden, Utah to John David and Elizabeth Neeser Cardon, and was reared at Ogden. He attended Weber College where President David O. McKay was one of his instructors.

On Oct. 22, 1909, he maried Anna Dahlstrom in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and they lived at Ogden and Black Pine, Idaho prior to coming to Inkom, Mrs. Cardon died July 21, 1936.

He had married Ida Wood, and they later were divorced.

Mr. Cardon worked as a farmer and meat cutter. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in various capacities including bishop of the Inkom Ward for ten years, ward clerk and superintendent of the Sunday School.

Survivors include two sons, John D, Arbon Valley, and Royal, Fairbanks, Alaska; two daughters, Mrs. Burl (Doris) McNabb, Inkom, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Welland, Chicago, Ill.; four brothers, Walter A. and Herman, both of Ogden, Utah; William E. Southern Utah and Lawrence, Declo, Idaho; a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Hazel) Coray, Ogden, Utah; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Manning Funeral Chapel.
