Janeane Green Ricks

Our dear sweet sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend Janean Ricks-Larson was released from her mortal pain and suffering on November 1, 2012. She was privileged to be reunited into the loving arms of her parents, sweetheart Marvin, and her Savior.

Jeanie was born May 1, 1940 to Clyde and Julia Ricks in Ogden, Utah. She was the oldest of four children. Jeanie graduated from Weber High School in 1959. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She had many various callings which included serving as librarian for many years as well as working with the Young Women’s program.

Jeanie retired early from Hill AFB after 35 years of service so she could lovingly help take care of her parents until their passing.

Although Jeanie never had children of her own, she was a mother in many ways to her nieces and nephews. There are many fond memories of scary TV and movie nights, movie trips, shopping, eating out, cleaning, arranging her furniture and knick-knacks, decorating her home for Christmas, back rubs and tickles, styling her hair, makeup, playing beauty shop, her nose puffs, nauseating car rides with road raged honking, and most of all we enjoyed her one of a kind, fun, silly, infectious giggle.

Her hobbies included traveling to many destinations with friends, family, and parents, cruises, being a true Elvis Presley fan, shopping, daily phone calls to her sister, Christmas gatherings with Darlene, Clyde, and Mike, and many sleepovers with her nieces and nephews. She also loved going with the lunch bunch from her ward. She especially loved her Siamese cat, Herbert.

Before Jeanie left this life, she was able to be sealed to her parents and to her sweetheart and fiancé, Marvin. She was always thought of as a sweet spirit and easily befriended those she came in contact with. She had a testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ which helped her through many trials in life.

Jeanie is survived by her siblings, Darlene (Curtis) Agren, Clyde Ricks, and Michael Ricks and many other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Julia Ricks, and her eternal companion Marvin Larson.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Family will meet with friends from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park.
