UINTAH – James William Fernelius, 57, died at his home in Uintah yesterday morning following a short illness. He had been custodian at Burch Creek for several years.

He was born in South Weber, April 9, 1897, a son of Bishop Charles A. and Mary Lindberg Fernelius. He married Clara Kendell in the LDS Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 17, 1919.

A life-long member of the LDS Church, Mr. Fernelius was a high priest in the South Ogden Stake, was a ward teacher, Sunday School teacher, member of the Sunday School superintendency and Scoutmaster of the Uintah Ward.

Surviving are his widow, two sons and two daughters, James Roy and Douglas K. Fernelius, both of Ogden; Mrs. Malcolm H. (Annie) Sbarbora, Gallup, N. M.; Mrs. Neil H. (Alice) Thompson, Ogden; three grandchildren, and five brothers and three sisters, Victor C. Fernelius, South Weber; Edward A. Fernelius, Mountain Green, Utah; Heber A. Fernelius, Uintah; Walter M. Fernelius, Morgan; Cleavy A. Fernelius, Ogden; Mrs. Nancy Zaugg, Peterson, Morgan County; Mrs. Ellen Stuart, Uintah, and Mrs. Lillie Hunt, Evanston, Wyo.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Aultorest Chapel, with Bishop Milton Anderson, of the Uintah Ward, conducting. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday prior to the service hour. Burial will be in Uintah Cemetery.
