Our beloved husband, dad, grandfather and friend, James “Jim” Alvin Rasmussen, age 67, died May 31, 1999, from complications of cancer and pneumonia.

Born Aug. 5, 1931, in Ogden, Utah to George T. and Katharyn E. Tribe Rasmussen. Married DelRae Easton December 1, 1956. Marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on September 3, 1963. Raised in Robertson Wyo., on a ranch. Lived in Evanston, where he later met his wife. Served in the U.S. Navy eight years. He loved the LDS Church. Loved fishing and the outdoors. Worked at KSOP as “Al James” for many years. Drove heavy equipment, bus, taxi and chauffeured celebrities including John Wayne, also for “Touched By an Angel.”

Survived by wife, DelRae; children, Cheryl (Bill) Peirce, Kim Jardine, David (Lori) Rasmussen, Susan, Darren, Jana and Jaimi; nine grandchildren; brother, Darrel (Laura) Rasmussen; and sister, Kay (Jim) Robb. Preceded in death by daughters, Cindi and Traci.

Funeral services were held Monday June 7, 1999, 11 a.m. at the Cannon 7th Ward, 1301 South, 1200 West, SLC. Friends called Sunday, from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple and Monday at the Church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South.
