Mrs. Christensen Passes In Death
Irene Cardon Christensen, 68, died May 15 at the Tooele Valley Hospital after an illness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 17, at 1:00 p.m. in the Tooele Fourth-Fourteenth Ward Chapel.
BORN November 7, 1904, in Tombstone, Arizona, Mrs. Christensen was a daughter of Emanual Alonzo and Rose Vilate Terry Cardon. She was married to Lloyd M. Christensen March 14, 1924, in Fillmore. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.
Mrs. Christensen had been an active member of the LDS Church and served as ward Relief Society president for a number of years.
Surviving are her husband, Tooele, one son and seven daughters, Lloyd Kay, Vallejo, Ca.; Edna Sampson, Riverside, Ca.; Freya Johnson, North Salt Lake; Betty Gutierrez, Los Angeles, Ca.; Mavis Brinkerhoff, Las Vegas; Janis Knab, Pittman, New Jersey; Loretta Giebink and Sharon Nelson, both of Tooele.
ALSO surviving are brothers and sisters, Emanuel Alonzo Cardon, Van Couver, Wash.; twins, Terry Cardon, Kamas, Wash.; and Dercy Stout, Upland, Ca.; Rose Conk, Salt Lake City; and Faye Chalk, Lewis, Kansas; 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Tate Mortuary Wednesday evening 7 to 9 p.m. and an hour prior to funeral time on Thursday.
Burial will be in the Tooele Cemetery.
