Henry John Van Sweden

TREMONTON-Henry John Van Sweden, 84, died, Thursday, June 22, 1995 at the Ogden Regional Medical Center, of a heart attack. 

He was born October 28,1910 in Salt Lake City, the son of Carl Jacob and Hendrina “Rena” Schelling Van Zweden. 

He married Jessie Irene Guild, December 30,1937 in Evanston, Wyoming. Their marriage was solemnized December 10, 1954 in the Logan LDS Temple. 

Henry moved from Salt Lake to Ogden at nine years of age. He graduated from Ogden High School and following marriage moved to Tremonton. 

Mr. Van Sweden was a bookkeeper for Utah Power and Light Co. for forty years.
He was a member of the Tremonton Lions Club, and the Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Garland Fire Department and delivered for the Meals on Wheels Program.
He was a High Priest in the Tremonton Fourth Ward serving in the past as
Fourth Ward Finance Clerk, Stake Building Clerk and home teacher. 

Surviving are his wife of Tremonton, one son and one daughter, their spouses and grandchildren; Robert Carl (Lynn Ellen) Van Sweden, Costa Mesa, Ca.; their children April Lynn Van Sweden, and Robert Chad Van Sweden; Daughter Laurel Kay Smith and children MaKell Brianna Smith, and Bransen John Smith, all of River Heights, Utah. 

Three brothers and two sisters Robert (Ann) Van Zweden, Clearfield; Neil (Grace) Van Zweden, Fruit Heights; Lee (Portia) Van Zweden, Pleasant View; Ruth (Burt) Rawlings, Clearfield; June (Wilburt) Shupe, North Ogden. 

He was preceded in death by 1 sister Adrianna Montgomery and 1 brother Eugene. 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 29, 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton Stake Center with Bishop Bryce Udy officiating. Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home 111 N. 100 E., Tremonton. 

Burial in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
